Our place is on Teen Batti Road at Walkeshwar, number 183 to be exact. It’s a nice enough area, though it can get quite congested with all the cars trying to move through the narrow streets. Dakshinayan has been around for a good while, and the building itself feels its age. We have high ceilings and the fans are almost always spinning to keep the air moving. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a few old pictures and the menu board that we update by hand. Most of our regulars are people who have been living in Walkeshwar for decades. They come in, sit in their usual spots, and we don't even have to ask what they want half the time. The kitchen is tucked away in the back, and you can hear the clinking of plates and the sound of water running all day long. We don't use any pre-packaged stuff; we just cook things in the big pans we’ve had for years. The floor is made of old stone that stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little bit near the front door during the monsoon, so we have to put a bucket there. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s our setup. We just keep things going one day at a time without much fuss. If you’re ever near Teen Batti Road, you’ll find us there.
