Choice Chinese Corner

Choice Chinese Corner is just a small spot tucked away in Marol Bazar 5th Cross. We spend most of our morning getting the vegetables ready for the day. There’s a lot of chopping involved before we even turn the stove on. The kitchen gets really hot once the burners are going, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the wall. It’s a busy street out there with people always walking past to get to the market. We don't have much room for people to sit, so it’s mostly just a counter and some standing space. The floor needs constant sweeping because of all the foot traffic. We’ve been at this address for a while now. Some days are slower than others, but we stay until the shutters go down at night. We don't do anything fancy with the decor. It’s just some tiles and a few plastic stools. The delivery guys are always coming in and out, checking their phones and waiting for bags. We try to keep the orders moving so nobody has to wait too long on the sidewalk. Sometimes the rain blows in from the 5th Cross side and we have to pull the plastic sheets down. It’s just a regular way to make a living. Most of the regulars are people who work nearby or live in the buildings behind the bazaar. We know their usual orders without them even asking. It’s just how things work here.
