China General Merchant

We are set up right near the Masjid Bunder West area, close to the Vastrapur Railway Station at number 236 38. China General Merchant is right in the middle of all that movement. If you know the station area, you know how loud and fast everything moves with the trains coming and going all day long. We have a lot of stuff moving in and out, mostly boxes and crates that need sorting. The floor is usually a bit dusty from the street, and we do not have much time for cleaning it up until the end of the day. It is a real working space, not a showroom. We deal with all kinds of items and the paperwork that goes with them. The lights are a bit dim in the back, but we know where everything is kept. It gets really hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the front of the building. We usually have some tea around four o’clock to keep us going through the final rush. It is a rough and tumble kind of place, but it works for what we do. You will see us moving things around or talking to the delivery drivers most mornings. We have been here at this address for quite some time now and the neighbors all know us. It is just a normal day of work for everyone here. We try to stay organized but things get busy quickly.
