China Gate

China Gate is located at M H Plaza in Mamulpet, over in the Worli West area of Bangalore. It is right in the middle of a very busy market district, so there are always people walking past the front door looking for deals. We open up and start prepping the kitchen early because the lunch rush starts before you know it. The smell of onions, ginger, and spices fills the place up pretty quickly. We have a lot of tables to look after, and during the peak hours, it can get a bit hectic trying to keep track of every order that goes into the kitchen. We don't use any fancy computer systems; we just write things down on paper and get them to the chefs. The plaza itself is quite old, so the building has some quirks, like the occasional flickering light or a door that sticks when it’s raining outside. We spend a lot of time wiping down the menus and making sure the floor isn't slippery for the guests. Most of us have been working here for a long time, so we know how to handle the busy crowds that come in from Mamulpet. It’s a loud, lively place to work, especially when the kitchen is in full swing. We don't have a lot of quiet moments, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We just focus on serving the food and making sure the tables are cleared for the next group.
