We are located at number 7 in Chembur, right across from the old Dukes Soda Factory. If you have been in this part of Mumbai for a while, you know exactly where that is. The factory is a big landmark for everyone around here. Our office is a simple ground-floor space. We have a few desks and a bench for people to sit on while they wait. The area stays busy because of the factory and the other businesses nearby. We spend our days answering the phone and writing down details for people who want to rent or buy something in Chembur. It’s a lot of manual work, checking the lists and making sure the keys are in the right place. We don’t have any corporate decorators; we just put up some calendars and a map of the area. It feels like a real local shop. Sometimes the noise from the street is loud, but we just talk over it. We know most of the shopkeepers on this block. We’ve been here long enough that people just know to come to us when they need help with a property. It is not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy and we get to meet a lot of different people from the neighborhood. We just focus on getting the paperwork right and making sure everyone knows what they are signing.
