Chefs At Home is based out of Paschim Apartments in Prabhadevi. We are in building B54. It is not a big commercial kitchen or anything like that. It is just a home setup where we do all the cooking and prepping for the orders. The kitchen is small, so we have to be very organized with all the pots and pans. We spend a lot of time at the granite counter chopping vegetables or measuring out spices. The building is usually quiet during the day, but our kitchen is always humming with the sound of the stove or the mixer. We have bags of flour and rice stacked near the window. Prabhadevi is a crowded area, so getting supplies can be a bit of a trek sometimes, but we manage. We do not have a sign outside or anything. People mostly just know where we are. We do a lot of the work ourselves, from washing the greens to packing the containers for the delivery people. The smell of frying onions or fresh ginger usually fills up the whole flat by mid-morning. It feels like a real home because it actually is one. We use the same spoons and bowls you would find in any normal kitchen. Sometimes the neighbor's cat sits on the ledge outside the window and watches us work. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready one by one until the sun goes down and we clean up.
