Chef Hat

Chef Hat is tucked away in Bandra West inside the Devitha Market. Our shop number is 11/6, and we are located in Ali Manzil, right behind the main row of stalls. It is a bit of a walk to get back here, but once you find the market, it is not too difficult to navigate the narrow lanes. We have a small kitchen area where most of the work happens, and it gets quite hot during the lunchtime rush. We wear our uniforms and keep our heads covered, and there is always a lot of chopping and stirring going on. The counters are stainless steel, which makes them easy to scrub down, but they also show every little scratch and dent from years of use. We have a radio that stays on a local station, playing music softly in the background while we prep the ingredients. The market outside is always full of people shouting and moving crates, so we feel very connected to the energy of Bandra. We don't have much room for storage, so we have to get fresh supplies delivered every single morning before the sun gets too high. The door has a bell that rings whenever someone enters, but sometimes it gets stuck and we have to give it a little shake to make it work. It is a busy, greasy, honest kind of place where we just focus on the food and getting things served on time.
