You can find Chavunda Fashion over in Dadar West. We are based in the Nand Gopal Industrial Estate, unit 31 B. It's a busy industrial area. There’s always the sound of machines or trucks loading stuff up nearby. We’ve been in this unit for a while. It’s not a showroom with glass windows and mannequins. It’s more of a workspace where the actual making happens. We deal with clothes and fashion stuff every single day. The floor is usually covered in bits of thread and scraps of fabric. We don't mind the mess though. It shows we're working. Dadar is a central spot, so getting things in and out isn't too difficult, though the traffic can be a real headache some afternoons. We have a small crew here. Everyone knows what they need to do. We don't have meetings about meetings. We just talk across the room. It’s a simple way to run a business. We focus on the garments and making sure they look okay before they leave the estate. If you come by 31 B, you’ll probably hear us listening to the radio while we work. It’s just how it is. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make decent clothes and keep the business going. It’s a bit dusty and loud, but it’s our home.
