Cermal Dance School

If you walk down Marve Road in Malad West, you will find us near Adarsh Nagar. Cermal Dance School has been around this neighborhood for some time now. It is not a huge studio like the ones you see in the movies, but we have enough space for the classes. The wooden floors have some scuffs from all the shoes over the years, but that just shows people are actually using the space. You can usually hear the music from the street when a class is going on. Sometimes it is a bit loud for the neighbors, but they do not seem to mind too much. We get a lot of local kids and some adults too who just want to move around a bit. The heat in Malad can be tough during the summer, so we have fans going all the time. It is a simple place, really. We don’t have a fancy reception desk or anything like that. People just come in, change their shoes, and get started. We spend a lot of time cleaning the mirrors because they get fingerprints on them constantly. It is a lot of work keeping a dance space running, but we like being part of the community here. It is better than sitting in a quiet office all day. We have seen a lot of people come and go, some staying for years and others just trying it out for a week. We are just here on the road, doing our thing.
