Cafe Marol Pan Shop

We run Cafe Marol Pan Shop and we are based at Andheri East Chowpatty (Girgaon). It might sound like a bit of a confusing address to some, but we are right there where the people gather. The shop is small and we have shelves lined up with all the different jars and containers we need. Every morning starts with checking the stock and making sure the leaves are fresh and green. If the leaves are bad, the pan doesn't taste right, so we are careful about that. The area around Andheri East and the Girgaon side stays busy almost all the time. You hear the scooters and the buses going by constantly. We don’t have much room for people to sit down, so most folks just stand by the counter for a minute, get their pan, and move on. It is a lot of standing on our feet for hours, but that is just the nature of the job. We see a lot of different people, from office workers in their white shirts to laborers who just want something to chew on while they wait for the bus. We keep things pretty simple here. There are no big signs or bright flashing lights, just our name and the work we do every day. Sometimes when it rains, the water splashes up from the road, so we have to keep the front covered up. It's just a normal day-to-day business.
