Cafe Chitra

Cafe Chitra is located on Dr B A Road, right near the Palanpur Patia and Rander Road area in Dipanjali Society. Dadar East is a busy place to be, and our street is no exception. There is always noise from the traffic on the main road, but we’ve gotten used to it over time. We start serving early in the morning because that’s when the first wave of people comes through. The shop itself is a bit older, with some scratches on the tables and a floor that’s seen better days, but it has a familiar feel to it. We spend our time making tea and coffee and whatever else people are looking for. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for the next order, then a sudden rush where everyone wants something at the same time. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we are right there on the way for so many people. Sometimes the overhead lights hum a bit too loud, and we keep meaning to fix that, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We just keep things moving. The weather affects us a lot; when it’s too hot, people stay inside, and when it rains, they huddle under our awning. It’s just a normal cafe life here in Dadar. We don’t try to be fancy, we just provide a place to sit for a minute.
