Business Design Lab is located in Kalpataru Estate, right along the Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road. If you know JVLR, you know the traffic can be a real headache, so we usually try to get in early or stay a bit late to avoid the worst of it. Our office is 6A-102, and it’s a fairly quiet spot once you get inside and shut the door. We aren't a huge team, just a few people who enjoy the process of designing things for businesses. The Chakala area is pretty central, which helps when we need to meet people or get supplies. The estate itself is well-kept, which is a nice change from the chaos outside the gates. We have a few desks, a whiteboard that’s usually covered in scribbles, and a coffee machine that gets a lot of use. It’s not a laboratory in the scientific sense; it’s more of a place where we try out different ideas to see what sticks. Sometimes we spend hours just talking through a problem before we even touch a computer. It’s a very hands-on way of working. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just look at what a business needs and try to draw it out. It’s a small space, but it fits us just fine. Most days are pretty routine, filled with emails and drawing and the occasional walk around the complex to stretch our legs and get some fresh air before the sun goes down.
