We set up Rupkotha in the Agrasyr Hlrc Residential Complex on BD Sawant Marg. It is tucked into block 6B here in Chakala, and most locals know us by now. We started this place because there was a vacant spot and we had some ideas for what the neighborhood folks might need. It isn't a massive operation, just a few of us working out of this ground-floor room. Usually, the mornings are quiet until the school buses go past, and then things pick up. We spend a lot of time organizing things and talking to people who walk in from the apartments nearby. The light in the building is alright, though we had to put in a few extra lamps in the back corner. Sometimes the lift in the complex acts up, but we are on the lower level, so it doesn't bother us much. We keep a regular schedule, opening around ten and staying until the evening traffic on the main road dies down. It gets dusty being so close to the street, so cleaning is a big part of the daily routine. We don't have a big fancy sign, just our name on the glass door. It feels like a home office most days because we know the neighbors and their kids. We just do our work and try to keep things moving along without much fuss. We often share tea with the security guards when things are slow in the afternoon. It is just a simple way to get through the day.
