Freeplan Design

Being based in Wadala East means we are right in the thick of things. Freeplan Design has been operating from here for some time. The area has changed a lot since we first arrived. There are more buildings now and the trains are always packed when we head in. We spend most of our days sitting at the desks sketching things out and looking at different plans. The light in our office is okay in the morning but we have to use the big lamps once the afternoon hits. It's not a fancy place but it gets the job done for the kind of design work we handle. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall down the road when we need a break from the screens. Most of the people around here are workers or families who have lived in Wadala for years. It's a loud neighborhood but you get used to the sounds of the city after a week or two. We don't really have a big sign outside so people sometimes miss us if they aren't looking closely. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever projects come through the door. It’s a small team and we know how each other works pretty well by now. We don't bother with much of the corporate stuff you see in the bigger firms. We just like drawing and figuring out how things should look on paper before they get built. It's a living and we just take it one day at a time here in the city.
