Bombay Scientific Glass Works

Our small workshop, Bombay Scientific Glass Works, is located at B/ A Anand Dham on LT Road in Borivali West. We have been here for a good number of years now, focusing on the kind of glass you find in labs. It is a bit different from the glass you see in windows because it has to be much tougher. We use torches and tools to shape tubes and flasks for people who need them. Borivali West is a nice area to be in, and LT Road gives us a good spot where regulars can find us easily. The shop itself is pretty modest and we don't spend much on making it look shiny. Most of the money goes into our equipment and keeping the glass stock updated. We handle everything ourselves, from taking the orders to doing the actual blowing and shaping. It gets quite warm inside when the burners are going all day. Sometimes we have students come in looking for specific things for their school projects, and we try to help them out. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It is just a workspace where we get things done. We’ve seen many changes on this road since we first opened our doors. It’s a quiet life mostly, just us and the glass. We take our time to make sure things are done right, as you can't rush this kind of work.
