Bollywood Kitchen

Our kitchen is based in Andheri West on the Old Padra Road within the Mhada area. It’s a pretty busy neighborhood with lots of people coming and going from the housing blocks. We chose this spot because there is always a demand for a hot meal around here. The kitchen itself is packed with pots, pans, and bags of rice. We don't have much of a dining area, as most people just order and take their food back to their flats or offices. It gets very humid in here during the summer, but we’re used to it by now. We focus on the kind of food that reminds people of home. There’s no fancy presentation or garnishes that you can't eat. It’s just food in containers, ready to go. The staff is mostly local guys who know the shortcuts around the Mhada buildings for quick deliveries. We start early in the morning to get the masalas ready and the chopping done. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic when three orders come in at once, but we manage. The name Bollywood Kitchen sounded good when we started, though we don't have any actors eating here as far as I know. We just like the energy of the area and the fact that we can keep busy every single day. The sink is always full of dishes and there is always something bubbling on the burner. We just do our work and keep the orders moving.
