Base Victualling Yard

Base Victualling Yard is situated down by Colaba Po. It’s an old part of the city with a lot of history, and we feel like we fit right in with the surroundings. We don't have a big shiny sign or a lobby with a receptionist. Usually, you’ll just find a few of us moving supplies around or checking the paperwork on the old clipboard. It’s a practical place, built for work rather than looking good for visitors. We handle a lot of different things throughout the day. Some days are slow and we just sit around the small table we have in the back drinking tea, but other days we are running around from dawn till dusk. We don't put out advertisements or try to convince people of anything. We just do the job that needs doing. The salt air from being near the coast can be tough on the equipment, so we spend a fair bit of time just keeping things from rusting. It’s a local operation, and we’ve been here long enough that most people in Colaba know who we are without us having to say much. We don't use corporate talk or have long meetings. We just talk to each other and get the work finished. It’s a straightforward way of doing things and it has served us well for a long time now.
