Banger Kitchenaid

You’ll find us at B-25 in the Nandbhavan Industrial Estate, right on Mahakali Caves Road in Andheri East. It’s a busy area with a lot of small workshops and businesses all crammed together. At Banger Kitchenaid, we spend our time working on things for kitchens. The space is filled with metal parts, tools, and some half-finished items sitting on benches. It’s not the quietest place to work because of the neighbors and our own machines. We’ve been in this unit for several years now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. We have a small crew of people who know how to handle the equipment. Most of us take the bus or ride a scooter to get here through the Andheri traffic. It’s a lot of manual work, and our hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the shift. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most people find us because they’re in the neighborhood or they’ve heard about us from someone else. We keep a pot of tea going most of the afternoon. When the monsoon hits, we have to make sure the door is shut tight to keep the rain out. It’s just a basic workshop where we try to keep up with the daily tasks. We don't make it more complicated than it needs to be.
