Bangali Mashis Kitchen

We started Bangali Mashis Kitchen right here in Bhandup West, specifically at 4th T Block 48. It isn't a fancy place with big signs or bright lights. Mostly, people find us because they live nearby or work in the area and want something that tastes like home. We spend a lot of time getting the spices right. It’s hard work, standing over the stove, but we’ve been doing this for a while now. The space is small, and sometimes it gets a bit crowded when everyone comes at once. We handle everything ourselves, from the morning market runs to the cleaning at night. Bhandup can be busy, but our little corner stays pretty consistent. You can see the old tiles and the way we keep our jars lined up. People ask why we don't move to a bigger spot, but this block is where we know everyone. We cook what we know, mostly the stuff we grew up eating. It’s nothing more than that. The recipes aren’t written down anywhere, they’re just in our heads. Sometimes we run out of things early if the market didn’t have what we needed that morning. That’s just how it goes here. We don't try to be anything else. Just a kitchen in a neighborhood for anyone who needs a real meal.
