If you find yourself stuck at the Behram Baug signal in Jogeshwari West, you can probably see our shop. We’re in the New Motor Market, Shop 20, right in Kaju Pada. It’s a chaotic spot with cars honking and people moving everywhere. Our shop is small but we’ve managed to fit all our tools and some spare parts in there. We focus on machine tools. It’s a lot of iron and heavy equipment. We don't have much space for customers to sit, so they usually just stand around the front counter while we talk. The air is always thick with the sound of the traffic and the smell of exhaust from the street. We open up early and stay late most nights because the motor market is always busy. The shelves are packed right up to the ceiling with all sorts of bits and pieces. We have to use a ladder just to find the smaller tool bits when someone asks for them. It’s a family-run kind of place. My brother and I handle most of the walk-ins. We don't really use a computer for every single thing; we still write a lot of stuff down in our record books. It’s a rough and tumble area, but we like the energy of the market. You meet all kinds of people here. We don't bother with fancy displays. The tools are there, they work, and that’s what matters to the people who come to see us.
