Balaji Food Court

This place is right in Mahavir Nagar, specifically at shop number 1 in Kandivali West. If you’ve ever been to Mahavir Nagar, you know it’s basically just one big long line of food stalls and people walking around eating. We are right there at the start of it. Balaji Food Court is what we call it, and it’s a busy little corner. Most days it’s just a lot of steam from the cooking and the sound of plates being moved around. We have a few tables, but most people just stand around or take their food to go. It’s loud because of the traffic and all the other shops nearby, but that’s just how it is in this part of Mumbai. We spend most of our time prepping vegetables or cleaning up after the rush hours. The weekends are the worst for noise, but the best for business, I guess. We try to keep things moving fast so nobody is waiting too long out on the sidewalk. It’s not fancy at all, just a regular food spot where we serve whatever is on the menu for the day. Being at shop number 1 makes it easy to find us, right as you turn in. It’s mostly just us working here, making sure the gas is on and the food is ready before the evening crowd starts showing up. It’s a bit messy sometimes but that's how it goes in this neighborhood.
