Baba Rubber Works

Our workshop, Baba Rubber Works, is tucked away in the Bootwala Building at 5, Nyayamurti G.N. Vaidya Marg. It is an old building and we have been in this spot for quite some time. The smell of rubber is the first thing you notice when you walk in, and it stays with you. We make various rubber parts and components here. The machines we use are old but they still work perfectly fine for what we need. We have a small corner for the office stuff, but most of the room is taken up by the production area. It is often quite dusty and there are scraps of rubber on the floor. We don't mind it much. There are only a handful of us working here. We know the routines by heart. The P.O. Box is where we get most of our mail because the building entrance can be tricky for some couriers to find. We don't have any fancy brochures or a sales team. If someone needs rubber gaskets or specialized parts, they usually just find their way to us. We have a tea break every afternoon at four, and that is usually the highlight of the day. It is a quiet, honest business. We just focus on getting the orders finished and making sure the quality is what it should be. The ceiling is high but the light is a bit dim inside.
