Axis Architects

We run Axis Architects from our office in Santacruz East. It’s a decent area to work in, pretty central and easy to get to. We’ve been doing this for a while, just focusing on architecture and how to make buildings work better. The office is a bit of a mess sometimes with all the rolls of paper and folders, but we know where everything is. We don't have a lot of corporate polish. It’s more of a place where we actually roll up our sleeves and get into the details. Santacruz East has a specific rhythm to it, and we’ve become part of that over the years. We spend our hours drawing, calculating, and talking to contractors. It’s not always glamorous work, but it’s satisfying to see a project go from a sketch to a real structure. We don't spend much time on fancy talk. We just listen to what people need and try to draw it up as best as we can. The workspace is filled with the usual stuff—computers, pens, and a lot of half-finished coffee mugs. People usually find us through word of mouth or by just knowing we’re here in the neighborhood. We don’t have a big marketing team. It’s just us doing the drawings and making sure the plans are right. We like the practical side of things, sticking to what works and making sure the dimensions are correct.
