You can find us at 19 Oasis Building. It’s near the Vakola Market in Santacruz East, though we also do work out of the Government Industrial Estate in Kandivali West. Dealing with both spots keeps us on our toes most days. We focus on carbide tools here at Atul Carbide Tools. If you spend time in a machine shop, you know carbide is the tough stuff. It’s what we work with every single day. Our workspace is pretty crowded with various grinders and stock waiting to be shipped out. We don't have much room for anything that isn't essential. When you walk into the shop, you’ll see stacks of tool inserts and some guys working on sharpening up edges. It is a bit of a gritty job. There’s a lot of fine dust in the air and the sound of the grinding wheels is basically constant. We’ve been doing this for a long time. My father started with just a couple of machines and we’ve slowly added more tools to the inventory over the years. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make and sell tools that are meant to cut metal. If they don't cut well, our customers won't come back, so we try to be careful. The traffic between Santacruz and Kandivali is often a nightmare, but that’s just Mumbai life. We spend a lot of time in the delivery van. We aren't looking to become a giant corporation. We just want to keep working.
