Atharva Sangeet Vidyalay

Atharva Sangeet Vidyalay is tucked away in the Girgaon Sanjeevappa Layout. Our address is 217/14 in Jaya Bharat Nagar. It’s a relatively quiet spot, which is good for a music school. You can usually hear someone practicing an instrument or singing if you walk past the door. We don't have a big, fancy conservatory. It’s more of a community space where people come to learn music. We have several rooms set up with basic instruments and mats for sitting. The walls are thin, so you can often hear different lessons going on at the same time. It creates a nice atmosphere of learning. We’ve been in Jaya Bharat Nagar for some time now. Our students are mostly kids from the surrounding layout, but we get some adults too. We don't have a big staff, just a few teachers who really know their music. The office part of the vidyalay is just a small desk where we keep the registers and the schedules. We use a lot of handwritten notes for our lessons. Sometimes the layout gets a bit crowded with parked scooters when classes are changing over. It’s a humble place, but it’s full of life. We don't spend money on glossy brochures or big advertisements. Most people just hear the music and come in to ask about classes. It’s a nice way to run a school, being right in the middle of a neighborhood.
