Ashok Mundhra

My office is in the Varsha Building, which is over in J B Nagar, Andheri East. It is room 202, up on the second floor. Being in Andheri East means there is never a quiet moment outside. The sounds of the rickshaws and the people walking to the station are just part of the background here. I have been working out of this space for quite some time now. It is a simple setup with a desk, some chairs, and plenty of files stacked up against the walls. I spend a lot of my time on the phone or going through papers that need to be sorted. It is not the kind of place you come to for a show; it is just where the work happens. Sometimes neighbors from other offices in the building stop by for a quick tea and a chat about how things are going. The building itself is older, but it is sturdy and serves its purpose well. I usually get here early before the heat of the day really sets in. There is always a list of things to get through, and sometimes I stay late just to finish off the last few tasks. I like the routine of it all. It is a practical space for practical work. Nothing is too polished, and the curtains probably need a wash, but it is where I get things done every single day.
