We run Ashiyana Estate Consultants out of B14 in the Resham Appartment building in Andheri West. Andheri is always moving, always loud, and always busy, and our office is right in the middle of all that energy. Being in an apartment building makes it feel a bit more like a local neighborhood business. We’ve been working from this room for a while, and the walls are pretty much covered with maps and notes about different properties in the area. It’s not the biggest office you’ll ever see, but it works for us. We spend most of our time dealing with the local rental market and helping people find flats. Andheri West is a huge place with a lot of different pockets, and we’ve tried to learn as much as we can about every street. It’s just a few of us here, and we handle everything ourselves, from the first phone call to the final keys. We don’t use any fancy systems, just a lot of lists and a good memory for which building is which. Sometimes the rain makes getting around difficult, but we still go out to show properties anyway. It’s just part of the job. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. We’re just local consultants who know this part of the city well. People seem to find us mostly by word of mouth, which we like.
