Ashiana Fast Food

Ashiana Fast Food is located in Shop No-1 of the Ashiana Building, right on Shantilal Modi Road. We are in the Charkop area, very close to SVP College, which means we get a lot of noise and energy from the students all day. The building itself is a regular sight in the neighborhood, and being in shop number one makes us easy to spot from the street. It’s a small place, mostly taken up by the counter and the cooking equipment. We don't have a lot of seating, but that doesn’t seem to matter much to the people who grab a quick bite on their way to class or work. The kitchen is always a bit frantic, with the sound of knives on boards and things frying up. It smells like spices and oil most of the time, which I guess is what a fast food place should smell like. We aren't trying to be a five-star restaurant; we just want to make stuff that tastes good and gets out fast. Sometimes we run out of things before the day is over, and we just have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s a very casual atmosphere here. The staff is mostly just a few of us who have worked together forever. We deal with the Mumbai heat and the rain and just keep the shutters open. It’s a simple life running a shop in Charkop, and we’re happy to be part of the street.
