Our place is on Wadala 12th Main, right at the corner of 27th Cross in 4th Block 46. It’s a busy corner. You can hear the traffic all day long. We started Asha Fast Food because we knew people around here needed a quick bite that didn't cost too much. We do a lot of frying. The smell of oil is always on my clothes when I go home. It’s a small space, so we have to be organized or we’d just be bumping into each other. The counter is usually covered in little slips of paper with orders written on them. Sometimes the pen runs out of ink right when we're busy. We serve a lot of students and people working nearby. Most people just stand and eat outside. We have a plastic stool or two but that is it. The rain sometimes makes things difficult, we have to pull the shutter down halfway to keep the water out. We don't have fancy menus. Everything is just listed on the board. We try to keep things moving fast because nobody likes to wait when they’re hungry on their lunch break. It is a lot of hard work standing on your feet for ten hours. But seeing the regular faces makes it okay. 4th Block 46 is a good area to be in. We just keep our heads down and cook.
