Down in C-105 at the Ghatkopar Industrial Estate, things stay pretty busy most of the time. We are right off LBS Marg in Ghatkopar West, so the traffic outside is always humming away. Inside our unit, it’s mostly the sound of tools being moved and metal being worked on. We’ve been operating from this same spot for a long time now. The space is a bit tight because we have so many different types of equipment packed in, but we know exactly where everything is. Our shelves are stacked with all sorts of bits and pieces that we use every single day. Most of the staff comes in from around the neighborhood. We usually have the main shutter halfway up during the day to let some fresh air in. It gets really warm when all the machines are running at once. We don't really do much in the way of decoration here. The walls are mostly covered in old calendars and charts we need for the work. It’s a practical place. We focus on getting the orders out on time because we know people are waiting for them to finish their own projects. Sometimes the deliveries arrive a bit late because of the LBS Marg traffic, but we manage somehow. You’ll find us mostly huddled around a workbench or checking some specs on a hand-drawn plan. It’s a simple operation where the work speaks for itself. We take our tea breaks together and talk about the weekend. It’s how we do things.
