Our shop is at 467 V P Road, right in the Hussain Bhai Mansion near Jail Road North. It’s an old building, the kind with thick walls and high ceilings that stay a little cooler even when the Mumbai heat is hitting the pavement outside. We’ve been trading from this spot for quite a while. V P Road is always a mess of traffic and people, so there’s never a dull moment looking out the front door. We handle a lot of different things, mostly whatever the local market is looking for at the time. The mansion itself has a lot of history, though these days it’s mostly just full of small businesses like ours. Our space is filled with stacks of ledgers and boxes of goods waiting to be sent out. We don’t have any fancy displays or a showroom. It’s just us, a couple of desks, and a lot of stock piled up against the walls. We spend our mornings on the phone and our afternoons sorting through orders. Sometimes the neighbors come by for a quick chat or to share some tea, which is how things go in this part of town. It’s a bit cramped and the lighting could be better, but we’ve got a system that works for us. We aren't trying to change the world, just keeping the business moving and making sure our customers get what they asked for without too much fuss. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve grown to like over the years.
