Albela Chinese Home

If you go down Taluka Marg in Kandivali West, you’ll find us at number 32. At Albela Chinese Home, we do things a bit differently than a big restaurant. It is more of a local setup where the kitchen is the heart of everything. I start my day by washing the vegetables and getting the sauces ready. The smell of ginger and garlic usually fills up the whole space by noon. The address at Taluka Marg 32 is easy enough to find, though the street gets very crowded with parked scooters in the evenings. I spend a lot of time over the big woks, and the heat can be quite intense during the summer months. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations or anything like that. It is mostly just the cooking equipment and some counters for prep. People from the nearby apartments usually call in their orders or just stop by on their way home. I like the sound of the oil sizzling when I throw the noodles in. It’s a fast-paced environment once the sun goes down and everyone gets hungry at the same time. I often find myself running low on containers or napkins because we get busier than I expect. It’s just me and a couple of others keeping the place going day after day. We like being part of this neighborhood in Kandivali and serving the folks who live right here.
