Al-Anwar Traders

We are set up at Shop No. 7A on the ground floor of 158/160 Narayan Dhuru Street. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to just walk in off the street. Al-Anwar Traders has been here for a good bit now. The shop is filled with all kinds of stuff, and sometimes it feels like we’re running out of room to walk. We spend a lot of time just organizing the shelves so we don't trip over anything. Narayan Dhuru Street is a busy place, so there’s always noise coming in from the front door. We keep the door open most of the time to let a bit of air in. It’s just a few of us working here, handling the daily orders and talking to the regulars. We don’t have any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still done the old-fashioned way with paper and pens. It works for us. People know they can just come in and ask for what they need. We try to keep things simple. There’s no big marketing strategy here. We just show up, open the shutters, and start the day. Sometimes we have tea in the afternoon when things slow down for a minute or two. Then it’s back to checking the stock and helping out whoever walks through the door. It’s a simple life running a trade shop in this part of town, and we plan to stay here for a while.
