Akhter Lakdawala Associates

You can find Akhter Lakdawala Associates over in Masjid, up on the second floor. We occupy Office No 6 in the building there. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. The office itself is tucked away, providing a bit of a sanctuary from the noise of the streets below. We handle a variety of tasks here, mostly just keeping things moving for our clients. It’s not a large team, just a few of us sharing the space and making sure the paperwork gets sorted out properly. The walls have a few old calendars on them, and the desks are usually piled high with folders. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders; we’re more focused on getting the actual work done. Being in the Masjid area means we are right in the heart of things, which is convenient for a lot of reasons. Sometimes the building is a bit drafty, and the lights might flicker if the weather is bad, but it’s our space and it works for what we need. People come in, we sit down at the wooden table, and we talk through whatever needs doing. It’s a simple way of running a business, without any of those flashy meetings or fancy presentations. We just take things as they come and try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door. It’s not glamorous, but it’s our daily reality.
