Acme Tool Centre

Being up on the third floor of Narayan Dhuru Street means we get a lot of steps in every day. It's an old building, but it works for us. We've got tools stacked everywhere. Sometimes it's hard to find exactly what someone is looking for right away, but we eventually get there. My brother and I run the place. It's been in the family for a while. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the city. We just want to have the right wrench or drill bit when someone comes climbing up those stairs. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep a small fan going near the desk. Most of our customers are regulars from the neighborhood. They know the deal. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and displays. It’s just shelves and boxes. Sometimes we sit and have tea with whoever drops by. It's a bit cramped, especially when we get new stock delivered and have to haul it up. But we like it here. There's a lot of history on this street. We try to be fair and just give people what they need without a lot of fuss. If we don't have it, we usually know who does. That's just how things go around here. No big corporate stuff, just tools and hard work. We keep things simple and honest. You just have to find the right door and start climbing.
