Abhijit Estate Agency is right here in Shop No 2 at Anand Bhavan. If you know the flyover in Vile Parle West, we are just near that. It gets noisy with the traffic sometimes, but it’s a good spot because everyone passes by. I spend most of my day answering the phone or showing people around different flats in the area. It’s a lot of walking. Vile Parle West has some nice quiet pockets if you know where to look. I’ve lived around here for a long time, so I know which buildings are well-maintained and which ones have issues with the water or the lift. I don’t try to sugarcoat things. If a place is small, it’s small. My desk is usually covered in papers and keys. Sometimes I forget where I put the spare key for a specific unit, but I eventually find it. People come in looking for rentals or wanting to sell their old family homes. It can be emotional for them. I just listen and see what’s available on my list. It’s just a small shop, not one of those big fancy offices with glass walls. We have a couple of chairs for guests and a ceiling fan that works most of the time. It’s a simple business. I like meeting the neighbors and helping them find a place to stay. There is a tea stall nearby where I get my afternoon cutting chai and usually chat with other shopkeepers.
