Aaswad Food Products Ltd. is situated at 1, Khatija Manzil on S. Bapat Road, right across from the Kohinoor Complex in Dadar West. If you know Dadar, you know how hectic the traffic is right outside our doors. Khatija Manzil is an older building, and our space is filled with the constant hum of the city. We are in a prime spot for people passing by on their way to the station. Inside, things are pretty functional. We have our production area and a small counter. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to worry about that. We have sacks of flour and sugar stacked in the corners, and the ovens stay hot for most of the day. You can always hear the clatter of pans and the staff talking over the noise of the ceiling fans. We aren't a big factory; we are a local operation that has been around for a while. The smell of frying and spices often drifts out onto S. Bapat Road, which probably brings in more people than any sign could. We deal with a lot of regular customers who have been coming to this area for years. It is a bit of a squeeze when the delivery van arrives, as parking in Dadar is a nightmare. We just keep our heads down and keep the kitchen moving so we can meet the daily demand.
