Aan Associate

Mumbai Central is always moving, and our place at Tahir Manzil is right in the middle of all that chaos. We are located on the first floor at 236/242 Narayan Dhuru Street. It is an old building, the kind where you can hear the street noise very clearly even when the windows are shut tight. Our office for Aan Associate is full of paper. We have stacks of files on the tables and some even on the floor because there just is not enough shelf space for everything. The ceiling fan works hard all day, making a clicking sound that we have mostly gotten used to by now. Sometimes the humidity in Mumbai makes the papers feel a bit damp, but we just keep going with the work. People come up the stairs and usually look a bit tired, so we have a few stools for them to sit on while we talk. It is not a quiet place, as you can hear the honking and the shouting from the market below throughout the afternoon. We do not have fancy leather chairs or anything like that. It is just wooden desks and our pens. We spend our mornings sorting through what needs to be done and our afternoons meeting people who drop in. By the time we lock up, the street lights are already on and the evening rush is starting. It is just a regular Mumbai office life, nothing more and nothing less for us.
