Aakay Industries

Aakay Industries is situated at 130 Masjid Main Road in the Vadgadi area. It's a very old part of the city, and the roads are quite narrow. You have to be careful when you’re driving down here because of all the handcarts and people moving about. We’ve been in this building for a long time. It’s got high ceilings and those old wooden doors that creak every time you open them. Inside, we do a lot of industrial work, mostly stuff that people don't think about until they really need it. The air always smells a bit like metal and old oil. We have a small team, just a few guys who have been with us for decades. We don't really have a fancy office; we just sit at a wooden desk in the corner with a big paper ledger. Everything is done the old way here. We write things down by hand and keep the receipts in a drawer. Sometimes the power goes out in Vadgadi, and we just have to sit and wait or work by the sunlight coming through the main door. It’s not a fast-paced life, but we keep busy enough with the orders that come in. We know all the other business owners on Masjid Main Road. We share tea and talk about the prices of things or the weather. It’s a good community to be a part of, even with the noise and the dust. We keep a spare key under a brick just in case.
