We’ve been set up here in Devki Bhavan for a while now. It’s Room 208, which isn’t hard to find once you get into the building on Dhanji Street. It’s a busy area, especially with the Mumbadevi Temple right nearby. You can always hear the sounds from the street filtering up, the bells and the people moving around. Kalbadevi is just like that, always moving and never really quiet. We share the space with a lot of other small offices and businesses, so there’s always someone coming or going in the hallways. Sometimes the lift is a bit slow, but we don’t mind. It’s part of the charm of being in an older building like this. We handle things from our desk here, looking out over the street. It’s not a huge office, just big enough for what we need to do. Most of the people around here know us by now. We’ve seen the shops downstairs change over the years, but the temple stays the same. It’s a good landmark for anyone trying to find us. Usually, people just say the place near the temple and everyone knows where they mean. We keep our door open most of the day to let a bit of air in, even if it brings in the city noise. It feels right to be in the middle of all that energy. We just get on with our work and try to stay organized in this small corner of Mumbai. There is always a lot to do, but we take it one day at a time here on Dhanji Street.
