If you are near Victoria Terminus, or CST as most call it now, you might find us. Our name is Aabar Khabo, which means you’ll want to eat here again. We try to live up to that, but we don’t make a big deal out of it. It’s a small place near the station, so we see a lot of people who are just passing through the city or heading to catch a long-distance train. They are usually tired and just want something that tastes a bit like home. We do a lot of Bengali style dishes because that’s what we grew up eating. It’s not like the food you get in big hotels. It’s more like what your mother would make on a Tuesday afternoon. The space is tight, and we have to move fast because people have trains to catch. The kitchen is always steaming. We buy our fish and vegetables early in the morning from the local market. Sometimes the supply isn't great, so the menu changes a bit, but that’s just life. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. Just some tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. It’s a bit noisy with the station nearby, but it feels alive. We just keep the stove going and wait for the next person to walk through the door. The address is 41373, which is right in the thick of the crowd. We stay open until the last traveler is served.
