Shree Durge Creations

Our workshop, Shree Durge Creations, is located in Gali No. 5 of Manju Nagar, right across from Prabhat Market on Rampur Road. It’s a lively area, and being opposite the market means there’s a lot of foot traffic and noise throughout the day. We focus on making clothes and other fabric items. The space is filled with the sound of sewing machines and the snip of scissors. We have big cutting tables that take up most of the room, and there are scraps of colorful cloth everywhere you look. It’s not a fancy boutique with a lot of mirrors; it’s a place where work actually happens. We have a few tailors who have been with us for years, and they can tell a good fabric just by touching it. Sometimes the orders pile up and we have to work late under the fluorescent lights, but we don't mind much as long as the tea is hot. The street outside is narrow, so when a delivery truck comes, everything else has to stop. We get a lot of local ladies coming in to discuss their designs, and there’s always a lot of talking and measuring going on. It’s a bit chaotic at times, but that’s just how we like to work. We don't have a big sign, just a small one over the door that helps people find the lane.
