Our shop, Khan Arts India, is tucked away at 59/ F-16, very close to the Purani Masjid in Guiyan Bagh. It’s an area that has a lot of history, full of small workshops hidden in the side lanes. You might find it tricky to spot us the first time because the streets are quite narrow and look similar, but just look for the old mosque and you’re basically there. Most of our days are spent working on different art pieces and handcrafted items. Being a small operation, we do almost everything by hand and try to pay attention to the little details. Inside the workshop, there’s usually the smell of wood or paint and the constant sound of tools. A big showroom or fancy website isn't really our style; we just focus on making things people actually want to buy. Guiyan Bagh is always lively, with something going on right outside the door. There are nights when we stay late to finish a project, and the neighborhood stays awake right along with us. We’ve never wanted to be a huge factory. We prefer the way we work now, where we can see every single piece through from start to finish. Local folks know us well, and being near the masjid brings in a lot of curious visitors. It’s a humble setup, but it’s where we do our honest work. We mostly just take things one day at a time. The area is special to us and our craft.
