About Laxmi Handicrafts – Art & Craft in Moradabad
If you go down to Pat-Pat Sarai, you will find Laxmi Handicrafts. We are right opposite the Neem Ki Piyo Bazar Ganj area. It is a very old part of the city and our shop fits right in. We sell things that people make by hand. Mostly it is wood and some cloth items that have been around for a while. The shop is small and smells like old wood and incense. We don't have a website or anything like that because we prefer talking to people face to face. My uncle used to run this place before I took over. Not much has changed since then. The door still creaks and the floor is a bit uneven. We get a lot of people walking by on their way to the main bazaar. Some stop in just to look around and others are looking for a specific gift. We don't push anyone to buy things. If they like it, they take it. The Neem Ki Piyo landmark helps people find us since the streets around here can be like a maze. We keep the stock varied based on what the local makers bring us. It's a quiet life for the most part. We like being part of this neighborhood. It feels like everyone knows everyone else’s business, which can be good and bad. We just stay here and do our thing every day. It’s not a fast-paced life, but it’s a good one. We enjoy the stories customers tell us while they look at the carvings.
