About New Era Handicrafts – Art & Craft in Moradabad
New Era Handicrafts is tucked away in Lane No. 1 in Barbara Majra. We are right near the police chowki, so it’s easy to find if you know the area. Our space is filled with all sorts of handmade items. It’s a bit cramped because there’s so much stuff everywhere. We work with different materials like wood and fabric. It’s not a mass production factory. Most things are done by hand, so it takes a lot of time. The people working here have been doing this for a long time. You can see the tools lying around and scraps of material on the floor. It’s a bit disorganized at times, but that’s just part of the process of making things. We don't have a big showroom. It’s more of a workshop where we also show what we’ve finished recently. People stop by to see what’s new or to pick up something they ordered. The neighborhood is usually quite lively and noisy. We’ve been in Barbara Majra for a while now and most of the locals know the shop. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything. We just make things that we think look good and hope others like them too. Every piece is a little bit different because that’s the way handmade stuff works. It’s a quiet life of making things, day in and day out, right here in our small lane. We just try to keep at it and see what we can create next.
