About Rais Crafts India – Art & Craft in Moradabad
We are located at Moh. Barkheriyan, right near the Bahadur Khan Wali Maszid in Sarai Tarin. It’s a very specific part of the Sambhal district, and you can always hear the call to prayer from the mosque nearby. Rais Crafts India isn't a big factory; it’s more of a family-style workshop where things are done the old way. The air is often thick with the smell of the materials we use, and there’s a constant scratching and carving sound coming from the back rooms. We don't have fancy uniforms or a polished reception desk. Most of the time, we’re just sitting on low stools, working on small details that take forever to get right. The weather in Sambhal can be pretty harsh, so we have big fans that just move the hot air around, but we’re used to it. Our hands are tough and usually have a few nicks and scratches from the tools. We don't do much in the way of talking about ourselves; we’d rather just show you what we’ve been working on. It’s a lot of repetitive movement, day after day, but there’s something nice about seeing a finished piece after all that effort. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time, and we don't plan on going anywhere else. It’s just a local workshop doing what we’ve always done.
