You can find Orient Arts & Crafts at 62-A, Civil Lines. We are right on Court Road, which is always full of people going to the government offices or the lawyers' cabins. It is a busy part of the city. Our building has been here for a long time. It has high ceilings and thick walls that keep it a bit cooler in the summer. We have piles of things everywhere. It might look like a mess to someone else, but we know where everything is kept. We spend our days working with our hands mostly. There is a lot of dust from the materials, but that’s just how it is. We drink tea from the stall around the corner twice a day. The noise from the traffic outside never really stops until late at night. We have some old wooden tables where we do all the sorting. It’s not a modern office with glass walls. It is a workshop where things actually get made. People walk in from the street sometimes just to look around. We don't mind. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for so long that it feels like home. We just keep on making things and hope the rain doesn't leak through the roof this year. That is just how things go for us on Court Road.
