Lakshmi International

Our business is tucked away in Lakshmi Compound, right at 34 Prince Road. It’s a bit of an older area, and the compound itself has several different units all operating next to each other. It’s a lively place with a lot of coming and going throughout the day. At Lakshmi International, we have a space that is mostly filled with storage and a few desks where we handle the admin side of things. The walls have a few cracks here and there, and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it doesn't bother us much. We’re more focused on getting through the daily list of chores. Prince Road is a main artery for the neighborhood, so it’s never truly quiet, even in the evenings. We often leave the main door open to get a bit of a breeze, even if it means a stray cat wanders in every now and then to see what we’re up to. We don't have a professional cleaning crew or a high-tech security system; we just lock up the gate ourselves when we leave. There is a small shop nearby that sells the best samosas, so that’s where we usually head when the afternoon slump hits. It’s a very human way to run a business, with plenty of mistakes and laughs along the way. We’re just local people doing our best in a place that feels like home.
