Annpurna Bhojnalaya

We've been here on Station Road for a while now. It's right by the station in Moradabad so there's always a crowd. The city gets pretty busy and we just try to keep up with the people coming in and out of the trains. It’s not a big fancy place, just a regular bhojnalaya where you can sit and eat. My brother and I manage most of the daily things ourselves. Usually, we start very early because travelers are looking for breakfast after they get off the morning trains. We don’t have any decorations or anything like that, just some simple tables and chairs that have been here for years. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the traffic outside and the horns, but that's just how it is around here. People mostly come for the thali because it’s quick to serve. We cook everything in the small kitchen in the back. It’s a bit tight but it works for us. We don't really have a menu card that stays clean for very long, so mostly we just tell people what we have ready for the day. The dal is usually the first thing to finish. We try to keep the drinking water cool during the hot summers. It's hard work being on Station Road but we're used to it by now. Every day is mostly the same routine. We open the shutters, clean the floor, and start the stove. Sometimes travelers ask for directions.
