M/S Ayyub Husain Handicrafts

M/S Ayyub Husain Handicrafts is our small family setup located on Lakdi Road. We are pretty close to the Art Craft Valley area, which makes sense given what we do here every day. It’s a lot of wood and manual labor. You can hear the carving and sanding from the street most mornings. We make various things by hand, mostly traditional stuff that’s been done this way for years. My family has been involved in this for a long time, so it’s just what we know. The shop is filled with sawdust and half-finished pieces waiting for the final touch. It’s not a big factory or anything; it’s more like a workshop where a few of us sit and work on whatever order is current. Sometimes we have a lot of items piled up, and other times the place looks empty because everything went out to customers. Lakdi Road is always busy with people looking for wood items, so we fit right in. We don’t have a website or anything like that, usually just people walking in or calling us up. Each piece has its own quirks because it’s all done by hand, not by some big machine. It takes time, and sometimes we run behind, but that’s just how it goes with this kind of work. We enjoy the process, even if it’s tiring on the hands after a full day. The street outside is usually full of the sounds of other shops too, which makes it a lively place to be.
